Job summary

Air National Guard Units is seeking a HR Specialist (MIL) to advise commanders on HR programs, interpret policy, and provide training on military HR issues. The position is part of the AR ANG HQ, National Guard.

The incumbent will analyze HR data, oversee OPR/EPR and promotions, administer disability and casualty programs, maintain HR records, and support entitlement programs such as TRICARE and DEERS, while ensuring regulatory compliance and readiness.

Qualifications

• NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
• HR program guidance and training for supervisors.
• Interprets policy and provides procedural guidance to commanders.

Responsibilities

• Serves as advisor to commanders on HR programs and provides training to supervisors on HR issues.
• Analyzes data and makes determinations on military HR matters affecting AGRs, drill status guardsmen, and family members.
• Conducts staff visits and trains personnel in programs for which responsible.
• Maintains reports and statistics for HR issues to assist management decisions.
• Oversees and administers programs including OPR/EPR, promotions, awards, and disability reviews.
• Administers tests like AFOQT, DLAB, DLPT, and AFCT; monitors Weight/BF program.
• Manages HR records, entitlement programs (TRICARE, Survivors Benefit Plan, TSP, etc.), DEERS enrollment, and casualty services.
• Provides deployment/readiness guidance and coordinates with HQ NGB and MAJCOMs.
