Job summary

Provident Bank is expanding its Middle Market Lending team. The Relationship Manager III will originate, structure, and manage complex credit relationships with middle-market clients, driving business development and cross-selling across banking products.

The role requires strong credit acumen, at least 10 years in commercial lending, and the ability to mentor junior staff while navigating cross-functional partnerships with Credit, Treasury Management, and Risk teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive commercial lending experience with middle-market exposure.
• Strong credit analysis, underwriting, loan structuring, and portfolio management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to clients and internal committees.
• Willing to travel to customers and property locations.

Responsibilities

• Originate middle market lending relationships through proactive business development.
• Build and expand long-term client relationships with owners, C-suite executives, and Centers of Influence.
• Identify and execute opportunities to cross-sell bank products (deposits, Treasury, Wealth).
• Structure and evaluate complex commercial credit opportunities.
• Oversee detailed loan presentations with financial analysis and risk evaluation.
• Monitor portfolio quality, covenant compliance, and risk; coordinate with Credit/Risk teams.
• Ensure loan transactions close in compliance with terms and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior relationship managers and credit staff; stay aware of market trends.
