Job summary

Provident Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst III – Middle Market to perform detailed financial, industry, and credit analysis for complex lending relationships. You will work with Relationship Managers and Credit Officers to evaluate new opportunities, support existing clients, and structure loans.

The role requires strong underwriting skills, experience with sponsor-backed transactions, and the ability to mentor junior analysts in a collaborative, hybrid office environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial credit underwriting experience in Middle Market Banking.
• Strong knowledge of loan structures and credit analysis.
• Experience with complex organizations and multiple borrowing entities.
• Advanced financial statement spreading and cash flow analysis skills.
• Familiarity with EBITDA, debt service coverage, and leverage analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare credit approval memorandums, annual reviews, modifications, and extensions for Middle Market lending.
• Analyze borrower/guarantor financial statements, cash flow, collateral, liquidity, and repayment capacity.
• Evaluate complex credit structures including revolvers, term loans, acquisitions, and working capital facilities.
• Perform cash flow analyses: global DSCR, fixed charge coverage, leverage, and covenants.
• Monitor credits and identify emerging risks for management action.
• Mentor junior analysts and participate in customer meetings.
