Job summary

X-energy LLC in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking Microreactor System Engineer III-IV to lead systems engineering across design, integration, verification, and lifecycle management of complex nuclear systems.

You will apply MBSE, develop system architectures, manage interface definitions, and guide risk mitigation, cost analyses, and documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a predominantly in-office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial and systems engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Level III: typically five years of experience in an engineering role.
• Level IV: typically ten years of experience in an engineering role.
• Master's or PhD may substitute for experience; MBSE tools experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems thinking and take a holistic approach to solve problems and design systems.
• Lead lifecycle efforts: requirements management, functional decomposition, system design, interface management, and testing.
• Develop and maintain MBSE models and use PLM/MBSE tools for documentation and traceability.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies; support cost analyses and optimization.
• Draft and review engineering documentation and communicate progress to stakeholders.
