Job summary

Smartsearchonline in Tustin, CA seeks a Senior Microgrid Solutions Engineer to lead modeling and design of microgrid solutions for customers. You will translate load data, site constraints, and resilience goals into right-sized, cost-effective systems.

You will mentor a team of Application Engineers while supporting Sales and Project Development through opportunity and proposal processes. As the microgrid business grows, you will help establish engineering best practices and ensure solutions are

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Energy Systems Engineering or related field.
Minimum 3 years in microgrid or onsite power engineering or techno-commercial proposal development.
Experience sizing and integrating gas generators, fuel cells and BESS.

Responsibilities

Model and size microgrids using HOMER Pro, XENDEE or similar tools with load data and tariffs.
Define operating modes and dispatch strategies for microgrid solutions.
Develop preliminary SLDs and 10% design packages for handoff.
Build equipment-level BOM and support project economics for proposals.
Mentor junior engineers and train Sales/Project teams on microgrid fundamentals.
