GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor-Microbiology to oversee the Microbiology Laboratory operations, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective service. Responsibilities include budgeting, staffing, QA/QC, and collaboration with LIS/MIS systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, 4+ years in Microbiology, and certification by a recognized agency; Specialist in Microbiology preferred. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent per CLIA.
• 4 years of progressively responsible microbiology experience after degree completion.
• Excellent oral and written communication, data analysis and problem solving.
• Ability to operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment.
• Certification by a recognized certifying agency; Specialist in Microbiology preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Reviews results for accuracy and validity.
• Performs bench duties as required by staffing and workload.
• Develops and implements protocols for accurate, cost-effective procedures.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Facilitates QA/QC programs, test selection and utilization.
• Maintains safe, clean environment following universal precautions.
• Manages inventory, purchasing and cost control.
• Interfaces with LIS or MIS to improve department functions.
• Evaluates workflow for efficiency and productivity and adjusts as needed.
• Prepares budgets and reports budget variance.
