Job summary

Radiant seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in El Segundo to transition Kaleidos into a scalable production system. You will own critical components and assemblies, drive DFM/DFA with design teams, and establish robust manufacturing processes to meet demanding performance and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• 8+ years of experience manufacturing complex mechanical hardware in production or high-reliability environments.
• Experience partnering with design engineering to influence hardware through DFM/DFA.
• Experience owning manufacturing processes from development through production.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, assembly, tolerance control, inspection, and GD&T.
• Ability to interpret drawings, CAD models, specifications, and GD&T.
• Experience documenting work instructions, process specs, routings, and inspection plans.
• Ability to troubleshoot and implement corrective actions across manufacturing and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Own manufacturing and inspection processes for critical Kaleidos components and assemblies from design release to final acceptance.
• Drive DFM/DFA with design engineers to reduce mass, parts, and production risk.
• Evaluate manufacturability, inspectability, tolerance stack-up, tooling access, and assembly sequences.
• Develop, qualify, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for complex hardware.
• Translate drawings and CAD models into manufacturing plans, instructions, inspection strategies, and controls.
• Define fabrication/assembly approaches, sequencing, and make-vs-buy decisions.
• Design production tooling, fixtures, and equipment for safe, repeatable builds.
• Collaborate with Quality and Test to establish acceptance strategies and address issues.
• Investigate defects and implement durable corrective actions.
• Develop suppliers and capital equipment to support current/future production.
