Job summary

Radiant, based in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to transition Kaleidos into a repeatable production system. You will own manufacturing processes for critical reactor components, develop production tooling, and collaborate with design, quality, test, and supply chain teams to improve manufacturability and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of experience manufacturing complex mechanical hardware in a production, development, or high-reliability engineering environment.
• Experience partnering with design engineering to influence hardware through DFM/DFA and ownership of manufacturing processes from development to production.

Responsibilities

• Own manufacturing and inspection processes for critical Kaleidos components, mechanisms, structures, and assemblies from design release through fabrication, integration, and final acceptance.
• Partner with design engineers to drive DFM/DFA, reducing mass, part count, manufacturing complexity and production risk.
• Evaluate manufacturability, inspectability, tolerance stack-up, tooling access, assembly sequence, and subsystem integration.
• Develop, qualify, document, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for complex mechanical hardware and assemblies.
• Translate drawings, CAD models, requirements, and specs into manufacturing plans, instructions, inspection strategies, tooling needs, and production controls.
• Define fabrication and assembly approaches for new hardware including process selection, sequencing, and inspection methodology.
