Job summary

Radiant in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and develop critical structures within Kaleidos. You will solve challenges creating efficient, reliable structures that withstand extreme temperatures and fit tight volumetric constraints.

You will conduct trade studies, material selection, thermomechanical and dynamic analyses, and oversee manufacturing and testing. The role requires hands-on CAD work, BOM creation, supplier development, and collaboration with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 6+ years of experience designing structures.
• 4+ years of experience performing stress analysis using hand calculations and FE tools (Abaqus, Ansys, FEMAP, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own critical structures design such as transportable shielding systems and high-temperature components.
• Conduct trade studies and develop designs to meet program requirements.
• Perform thermomechanical and dynamic analyses to ensure structural integrity and margins of safety.
• Develop manufacturing/instruction/test plans and manage BOMs and supplier development.
• Own subassembly design, manufacturing, testing schedules and risk analyses (FMEA).
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines and communicate requirements clearly.
