Job summary

Citi in Jacksonville, FL seeks an experienced MFA architecture and design SME to lead authentication strategies for digital fraud prevention. You will shape rule design, collaborate with Fraud, Technology and Business teams, and validate MFA changes to minimize fraud while preserving customer access.

The role emphasizes leadership in fraud risk, API health monitoring, and automation of monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications

• 6+ year experience in fraud risk, digital platforms, programming or related domain
• Proven expertise in digital platforms, including mobile/online platforms, API-based authentication, device and behavioral intelligence, and risk-based multifactor strategies
• Familiarity with device fingerprinting, orchestration layers, and customer authentication along with programming exposure.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive actionable outcomes.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently, influence stakeholders, and drive initiatives across cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated experience in Agile delivery and project management methodologies
• Experience with C, C++, Java strongly preferred
• Experience with SQL, Data Warehousing, Tableau preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary architecture and design SME for MFA within the digital fraud prevention domain.
• Partner with Fraud Policy, Fraud Requirements, and Fraud Analytics teams to develop risk-based authentication settings.
• Analyze fraud patterns across digital channels and adapt rule design to emerging threats.
• Explain authentication journeys and data attributes to stakeholders across teams.
• Oversee MFA rule changes and post-implementation validation to balance fraud interdiction and customer access.
• Lead improvements in fraud detection dashboards and real-time alerts for investigation.
• Advise on technical feasibility of strategic fraud prevention initiatives across platforms.
• Foster cross-team collaboration and mentor team members on fraud risk frameworks.
• Maintain awareness of authentication-related fraud trends for governance and planning.
• Advocate for automation in monitoring, rule validation, and reporting to improve efficiency
