Job summary

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is seeking a Development Engineer to join the Mezzanine Products team in Etters, PA. You will conceptualize, design, verify, and qualify connector solutions that meet customer requirements across electrical, mechanical, and environmental specs.

In this role you will collaborate with global teams, lead design reviews, develop test plans, and support manufacturing handoff while ensuring manufacturability and robust performance for data center and telecom

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years' full lifecycle product development experience required.
• Experience in connector design required.
• Proficient in Solidworks.
• General understanding of drawing standards such as ASME Y14.5.
• Excellent understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of the organization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel, other Engineers (local and global).
• Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously.
• ANSYS or other FEA simulation experience.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop connector solutions as required by the BU strategic roadmap and new business opportunities
• Work with Front-end team and customers to define product/application requirements
• Lead product design reviews and create and communicate technical presentations
• Develop testing programs to ensure products work per design intent
• Present product concepts to customers early in development cycle, interpret feedback, and incorporate any revised requirements into the design
• Define Product, Application, and Packaging specifications
• Define a verification and product qualification test plans
• Work closely with NPI and manufacturing engineering to ensure products are transitioned to the manufacturing
