Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, seeks a Senior Development Engineer for Mezzanine Products in Etters, PA. You will own concept generation, design, verification, and qualification for high-speed connectors, collaborating with a global cross-functional team including customers.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, leading design reviews, developing test plans, and ensuring manufacturability for transition to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years’ experience with full lifecycle product development.
• Experience in connector design.
• Proficient in 3D modeling using Solidworks.
• General understanding of drawing standards such as ASME Y14.5.
• Excellent understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of the organization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel, other Engineers (local and global).
• Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously.
• ANSYS or other FEA simulation experience.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop connector solutions as required by the BU strategic roadmap and new business opportunities.
• Work with Front-end team and customers to define product/application requirements.
• Lead product design reviews and create and communicate technical presentations.
• Develop testing programs to ensure products work per design intent.
• Present product concepts to customers early in development cycle, interpret feedback, and incorporate any revised requirements into the design.
• Define Product, Application, and Packaging specifications.
• Define a verification and product qualification test plans.
• Work closely with NPI and manufacturing engineering to ensure products are transitioned to the manufacturing.
