Job summary

Divergent in Torrance, CA, is seeking a Senior Metrology & Inspection Specialist to lead inspection strategy and quality across advanced manufacturing processes. The role demands deep GD&T expertise, independent judgment, and cross-team influence to drive process improvements.

You will mentor inspectors and collaborate with production and engineering to elevate part quality and upstream processes, while shaping SOPs and inspection standards in a high-precision environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in high-precision manufacturing (aerospace, defense, automotive)
• Mastery of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and real-world inspection techniques
• Proficient with metrology tools and part geometry-based selection

Responsibilities

• Execute visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on complex machined and additively manufactured components.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T to develop robust inspection strategies.
• Independently determine inspection methodologies for first article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Document non-conformances per AS9102 and internal procedures.
• Mentor inspectors and engineers in metrology practices and GD&T.
