Job summary

Divergent in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Lead Metrology Inspector to drive inspection excellence across the organization. You will perform advanced metrology, lead the inspection team, and ensure compliance with engineering specifications through hands-on work and mentoring.

This role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional collaboration with Quality, Engineering, and Production, and maintaining a safe 5S environment while delivering precise inspection results on time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years in a Quality Inspection or Metrology role in high-precision environments.
• Ability to interpret drawings, GD&T and specifications with accuracy.
• Proficient with Windows and Excel; able to handle data and reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication; lead by example in a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate scanners for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced inspection and metrology using scanners and 3D software.
• Deliver accurate inspection files, data, and reports to ensure compliance.
• Lead hands-on inspection work at least 50% of each shift.
• Coordinate shift handoffs with clear written and verbal updates.
• Prioritize tasks, mentor peers, and uphold 5S and safety standards.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe Metrology Lab; support cross-functional teams.
