Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking an intermediate engineer to support metering projects for substations and major clients. You will work under supervision to apply engineering knowledge, perform analyses, and contribute to safe, efficient project completion.

The role emphasizes coordinating activities, providing training to juniors, and participating in cost forecasting and planning for major metering initiatives. A PE pathway is encouraged.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required or equivalent with a master's/PhD from ABET program.
• Passing the FE exam is encouraged and preferred for PE licensure.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering; ABET-accredited program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply intermediate engineering knowledge to projects with safety and efficiency.
• Design, install, and commission metering systems for substations and large customers.
• Coordinate team activities and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Develop analyses and improvements to business processes.
