American Electric Power is seeking qualified candidates for Meter Electrician roles in the Columbus, Ohio area. This evergreen requisition targets future Meter Electrician C/A opportunities, with a focus on installation, testing, and maintenance of self-contained meters energized up to 240 volts.

The role requires an Associate degree in electrical/electronic technology or equivalent experience, hands-on testing and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work overtime and travel as needed.

Qualificações

• Associate degree in electrical/electronic technology or equivalent four years’ experience.
• Hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and working with electrical equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Read meters as required for field order and cycle billing.
• Install, remove, change disconnect, and reconnect meters.
• Test single phase, network, and polyphase self-contained meters for proper operation and accuracy.
• Program meters and perform related servicing.
• Investigate irregular usage and energy diversion.
• Repair meters, meter sockets, and enclosures.
• Order, receive, ship, store, and inventory meter equipment.
• Produce reports on power quality issues and events.
• Work from ladders and elevated platforms.
