Job summary

PPL Electric Utilities in Hazle Township, PA seeks a Meter Technician to perform adjustment, calibration, testing and repair of interchange, generation, IPP and complex I&C metering equipment. Responsibilities include commissioning AMR Substation Communication Equipment and maintaining TOU/RUG meter programs for revenue billing.

You'll work with field services to support meter data acquisition software changes and assist with investigations of power quality.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited 2-year Electronic or Electrical Engineering Technology program.
Successful completion of internal Meter Technician training program.
Valid driver's license and ability to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

Inspect, adjust, repair, test and verify meter connections and constants; perform phase angle measurements and maintain meters and metering systems.
Develop and maintain TOU/RUG meter programs, coordinate with manufacturers on meter programming.
Support meter data acquisition software/hardware updates for revenue billing for major customers.
Maintain AMR/SCE equipment, test boards and related standards; troubleshoot field equipment.
