Job summary

Unitil in Massachusetts is seeking a Meter Technician to ensure accurate metering, test and install meters, and maintain metering systems in line with company policies and local regulations.

The candidate will hold an Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology, demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, and be prepared for overtime, trouble calls, and on-call work within the defined bargaining area. Experience with AMI/AMR and a valid MA license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Electronics Technology.
• Valid license as required by Massachusetts or state of residence.
• Willing to respond to overtime, trouble calls, and system emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Repair, test, adjust, maintain and install all types of electric meters and related equipment both in shop and at customers' premises.
• Program meters for AMI/AMR and ensure proper data entry into CIS/AMI systems.
• Handle company vehicle in accordance with procedures.
• Identify damage or tampering to metering equipment and ensure safe operation.
