Job summary

PPL Electric Utilities is hiring for a Meter Technician role based at the Lehigh Service Center. The position is a union role under IBEW Local 1600, with a starting hourly rate of $56.173.

You will install, inspect and maintain meters and metering systems to ensure accurate revenue energy measurement and quality service. Responsibilities include field tests, data recording for billing and inventory, coordination with contractors, and adherence to REMSI guidelines while supporting outage

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Associates in Electronics/Electrical Tech or equivalent accreditation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software for meter data.
• Must possess valid driver's license and obtain CDL medical certification.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, test, remove and verify electric meters and metering systems.
• Perform certified PUC accuracy tests in the field to resolve billing issues.
• Record meter data for billing and inventory; follow REMSI rules and procedures.
• Coordinate outages and meter installations with contractors and Operations crews.
• Maintain meter equipment inventory and assist with AMI communications maintenance.
