Job Description:

The Opportunity: Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career.

Manages the development and execution of all operations related to the support of all division(s) buying and planning and allocation for the CBO. Directs the activities of Purchase Order Management, Flow of Goods, and the Merchandise support department. Partners with the Business Enablement team along with the Manager of Office services. Serves as a liaison and troubleshooter between Merchandising and all H.O. departments that impact the purchasing and ticketing of product. Develops processes to measure productivity of associates and departments to achieve the goals of consistent, excellent support of Buyers, maximizing efficiencies in the support world, including accuracy and efficiency of purchase orders.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  1. Create and maintain an environment where associates feel welcome, valued, and engaged; Recognize, appreciate, and leverage individual differences that contribute to the benefit of the team and the business.
  2. Actively partner with key internal and external stakeholders (buying, operations, logistics, satellite office counterparts) to understand and monitor the Purchase Order entry process.
  3. Direct the overall management activities and development within the merchandise support department.
  4. Work with MOMs and supervisors to ensure consistent standards of performance for the execution of operational details.
  5. Review and assess internal and external processes and procedures, communicating findings to business counterparts.
  6. Ensure consistent standards for hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  7. Partner with learning and development to develop new hire training, roll out of new business tools, and support ongoing staff development.
  8. Collaborate with Logistics and Accounts Payable to ensure procedures that maximize efficiencies and accuracy for writing and modifying POs.
  9. Recognize opportunities for automation and participate in designing systems to expedite PO entry both in HO and satellite offices.
  10. Support MOMs and Supervisors to adapt to shifting business priorities, updating procedures and policies for efficient PO entry.
  11. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with GMMs, MMs, Buyers, and MOMs to ensure proper staffing and workload coverage.
  12. Coach MOMs in skill development.
  13. Represent TJX to external partners independently or with the Manager supporting the operations department.

Who We Are Looking For: You.

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience (Merchandise Operations or Store Manager) with proven talent planning and development skills.
  • Experience with cross-divisional strategic initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of TJX business model, including P&A, DC Services, Transportation.
  • Experience with Manager Support and interviews with CBO HR, DVP.
  • Critical skills include:
    • Strong prioritization, strategic, and organizational skills
    • Problem-solving and follow-through across multiple stakeholders
    • Relationship-building skills across multiple levels
    • Talent assessment and development skills
    • Training and coaching skills for Managers, Supervisors, and MAs
    • Passion for Operations and/or Buying Support
