Job summary

Gilbane Building seeks an experienced MEP Manager to lead the MEP execution on large-scale projects. This role oversees MEP staff, drives coordination, and may serve as project manager on MEP-heavy builds.

The position is primarily site-based in Charlotte, NC, with some travel and occasional office meetings; Southeast candidates open to 100% travel are welcome. You will manage scheduling, risk, and quality programs, build high-performing teams, and partner with BD to align with sales strategies

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
10–15 years related field experience.
OSHA 30 hour certified.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Approves MEP and Commissioning schedules and coordinates related activities.
Oversees MEP subcontracting strategies and origins scoping for bid packages.
Negotiates pricing and change orders with contractors and equipment manufacturers.
Performs MEP constructability reviews of contract documents.
Directs MEP coordination process (BIM) and quality plans.
Conducts site inspections for MEP compliance and manages third-party inspections.
Ensures safe, timely execution of commissioning programs and performance metrics.
Collaborates with owner and client teams to ensure satisfaction and alignment.
