Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to lead the execution of MEP systems on large-scale construction projects. This role is primarily site-based in Charlotte, NC, with potential travel 100% across the Southeast.

You will oversee MEP staff, coordinate with the project team, and drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence on challenging builds. The ideal candidate has strong leadership, deep MEP expertise, and a track record of delivering complex projects on time and

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
OSHA 30 hour certification or equivalent.
Experience with MEP coordination and construction projects.

Responsibilities

Approves all MEP and Commissioning schedules.
Supervises MEP subcontracting strategies and outlines Scopes of Work for MEP bid packages.
Negotiates pricing and change orders with contractors and equipment manufacturers.
Performs MEP constructability and coordination reviews of contract documents.
Defines best approach for MEP buyout and oversees MEP scheduling values.
Creates an MEP quality plan and ensures proper execution.
Manages site inspections for MEP compliance and oversees third party inspections.
Communicates with owner/representative to align expectations and ensure satisfaction.
Leads and develops direct reports and fosters a positive, inclusive work environment.
Collaborates with business development to align with sales strategies and client deliverables.
