Job summary

Clayco is seeking a MEP/FP Preconstruction Manager to lead bid development, manage mechanical subcontractor relationships, and coordinate estimating with the preconstruction team on diverse industrial, commercial, and institutional projects.

You will review bids, prepare bid tabulations, visit sites, and provide guidance on HVAC selections and value engineering. Travel is required; strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years MEP estimating or Design/Build experience.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and BIM models.
• Willingness to travel nationwide for projects.
• Desire to lead and mentor junior preconstruction team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist the bidding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection scopes during preconstruction.
• Identify and maintain relationships with mechanical subcontractors in multiple regions.
• Review subcontractor bids, compile bid tabulations and present to clients.
• Coordinate estimating efforts with the preconstruction team and internal customers.
• Visit project sites to validate scope and assumptions.
