Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Mechanical Preconstruction Director to lead estimates for mechanical, electrical, and related systems on large, complex projects nationwide, including EV and semiconductor facilities. You will develop budgets, perform takeoffs, and guide the estimating team.

The role requires 15+ years in electrical estimating, strong leadership, and proficiency with Office and Trimble, with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience as an estimator in electrical systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Trimble on-screen takeoff preferred.
• Ability to review bid documents and offer VE opportunities.
• Strong leadership, safety awareness, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Review RFP/design documents to understand scope and develop RFI lists.
• Coordinate with project team for takeoffs, estimating, and cost control.
• Estimate pricing when only conceptual design documents are available.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing.
• Help maintain costs in estimating software.
