Job summary

Grunley Construction Company is seeking an MEP Estimator to support design-build and competitive bids across fire suppression, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, communications, and security systems in the DMV. You will work with the Director of Estimating in the Preconstruction department on Division 21–28 trades.

The position requires a 4-year degree and at least five years of construction estimating experience, preferably with GC or subcontractor exposure, and strong MS Word/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Five (5) years of construction experience with GC or subcontractor; mechanical/electrical focus preferred.
• Experience with construction software such as Building Connected, On-Screen Takeoff, Blue Beam, and Procore.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review project documents and develop subcontractor scopes of work for multiple projects.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to review scope and ensure proper coverage for each project.
• Perform quantity take-offs and draft pricing including self-perform work.
• Attend project site visits and pre-proposal meetings.
• Prepare for bid days by reviewing proposals and coordinating with subcontractors.
