Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an experienced MEP Estimator to develop and maintain cost estimates for diverse projects in early development stages and throughout Pre-construction. You will review plans, perform quantity take-offs, and manage subcontractor bid processes to meet financial objectives.

The role emphasizes collaboration across in-person, remote, and hybrid teams, with focus on accuracy, integrity, and market-driven pricing practices.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in construction, engineering, or architecture.
• 5+ years of experience in estimating for general contractor projects.
• Experience with data centers, mission critical, or corporate interiors preferred.
• Demonstrates honesty, reliability and accountability.
• Ability to work with in-person, remote, and hybrid teams.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and MEP drawings and prepare quantity take-offs.
• Develop and maintain an estimating database and cost data.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers and analyze bids.
• Prepare itemized cost estimates for planning, organizing and scheduling work.
• Attend client meetings and provide pricing advice and solution estimates.
