Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an MEP Estimator to develop, create, and prepare MEP cost estimates for a variety of projects in the early development stages. You will support the project team with updated cost information throughout the Pre-construction phase.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, preparing quantity take-offs, obtaining 3-5 bids per trade, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of the estimate package. Strong software skills are required.

Qualifications

• BS or BA required in construction, management, engineering or architecture.
• 5+ years of estimating experience in general contractor estimating and purchasing.
• Experience with Data Center, Mission Critical, Corporate Interiors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and MEP drawings and prepare quantity take-offs.
• Develop and maintain cost estimates for diverse projects in pre-construction.
• Solicit subcontractor bids and analyze bids for conformance to specs and costs.
• Attend client meetings and resolve pricing questions with teams.
