Position Overview
Senior MEP Coordinator – The role supplements the project team by organizing the planning, installation, startup, and commissioning of key MEP equipment. Focus is on Mission Critical environments, with additional support for Health Care and TI projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate MEP model and review submittals prior to submission.
- Provide potential solutions for MEP related RFIs.
- Track MEP construction progress.
- Organize startup and commissioning documentation.
- Work with subcontractors and vendors to close punch list items.
- Assist Project Management Team with preconstruction MEP information management.
- Support and schedule 3D model coordination for assigned projects.
- Track MEP related MOPs and cutover activities.
- Coordinate commissioning documentation with subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning agent.
- Process vendor startup and commissioning.
- Organize MEP client training.
- Train and provide guidance to MEP team on MEP concepts and installation details.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No direct supervisory duties, but responsible for mentoring staff, providing training on MEP procedures, and giving feedback on performance reviews.
Job Requirements
- Advanced experience and knowledge of installation of MEP systems, BIM modeling, and construction management.
- Experience with PLCs, control systems, process instrumentation, and/or building management systems.
- Independent judgment, self‑starting, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, drafting, and computer skills.
- Ability to coordinate solutions to installation problems with design engineers and subcontractors.
- Personal integrity and ability to foster a culture of collaboration.
- Desire and ability to collaborate with design engineers and technical personnel to resolve MEP problems identified in design review, construction, installation, startup, and commissioning.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience with large commercial construction projects (preferred).
- Experience working with a construction project manager or superintendent (preferred).
Pay Rate
$120,000 – $180,000. Actual compensation based on experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
