Job summary

Clune Construction Company, L.P. is seeking a Senior MEP Coordinator in Chicago, IL, to assist in the planning and commissioning of key MEP equipment for Mission Critical and Health Care projects. This role involves coordinating MEP models, tracking construction progress, and mentoring staff.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Science, along with advanced experience in MEP system installation and a minimum of 6 years in large commercial projects.

Overview

The Senior MEP Coordinator supplements the project team by organizing the planning, installation, startup, and commissioning of key MEP equipment in Mission Critical environments and assists with Health Care and TI projects at Minooka, IL.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the MEP model and review MEP submittals prior to submission.
• Provide potential solutions for MEP related RFIs and track MEP construction progress.
• Organize startup and commissioning documentation, and work with subcontractors and vendors to close punch list items.
• Assist Project Management Team with Preconstruction MEP information management.
• Support and schedule the 3D Model coordinator for assigned projects.
• Track MEP related MOPs and cutover activities for assigned projects.
• Coordinate commissioning documentation with subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning agent.
• Process vendor startup and commissioning.
• Assist with organizing MEP client training.
• Train and provide guidance to the MEP team on MEP concepts and installation details.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Mentor staff, provide training on MEP procedures, and give feedback on performance reviews.

Qualifications

• Advanced experience and knowledge of MEP system installation, BIM modeling, and construction management.
• Experience with PLCs, control systems, process instrumentation, and/or building management systems.
• Able to use independent judgement, self‑starting, and prioritize based on relevant factors.
• Read and understand plans and specifications; drafting and computer skills desirable.
• Coordinate solutions to installation problems with design engineers and subcontractors.
• Possess personal integrity and the ability to foster a collaborative culture.
• Collaborate with design engineers and other technical personnel to solve MEP problems identified in design review, construction, installation, startup, and commissioning.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Science, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience with large commercial construction projects (preferred).
• Experience collaborating with a construction project manager or superintendent (preferred).

Pay Range

$134,000 - $152,000 (actual compensation based on experience, skills, education, and equity).
