Job summary

Clune Construction is seeking a Senior MEP Coordinator to organize planning, installation, startup and commissioning of key MEP equipment in mission-critical environments, healthcare, and TI projects. You will coordinate the MEP model, review submittals, and manage RFIs and punch lists with subcontractors and vendors.

This role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction Science and at least six years on large commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 6 years of experience on large commercial construction projects.
• Experience with MEP coordination and BIM modeling.
• Experience coordinating startup, commissioning documentation, and RFIs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Management with Preconstruction MEP information management.
• Support and schedule 3D Model coordinator for assigned projects.
• Track MEP-related MOPs and cutover activities.
• Coordinate commissioning documentation with subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning agent.
• Process Vendor startup and commissioning.
• Assist with organizing MEP client training.
• Train and provide guidance to MEP Team on MEP concepts and installation details.

Overview

The Senior MEP Coordinator’s role is to supplement the project team by organizing the proper planning, installation, startup and commissioning of key MEP equipment. The position is focused in Mission Critical environments, but also helps with Health Care and TI projects. Responsibilities include coordinating the MEP model, reviewing MEP submittals prior to submission, provide potential solutions for MEP related RFIs, track MEP construction progress, organize startup and commissioning documentation, and work with subcontractor and vendors to close punch list items.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• While this role does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities, the Senior MEP Coordinator is responsible for mentoring staff, providing training on various MEP procedures, and providing feedback on performance reviews.

Requirements

• Advanced Experience and knowledge of the installation of MEP systems, BIM Modeling, and Construction Management.
• Experience with PLCs, control systems, process instrumentation, and/or building management systems.
• Ability to use independent judgment, self‐starting and ability to prioritize based on relevant factors.
• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications drafting and computer skills desirable.
• Ability to coordinate solutions to installation problems with design engineers and subcontractors.
• Must possess the utmost of personal integrity and have the ability to create and lead an organization’s culture of collaboration, both internally and externally, in order to maintain the superior reputation of the firm.
• Must possess the desire and ability to collaborate with design engineers and other technical personnel to create solutions to MEP problems identified in design review, construction, installation, startup, and commissioning.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Science, or combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience with large commercial construction projects preferred.
• Experience as or working in collaboration with a construction project manager or superintendent preferred.
