Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Principal Architect, MedTech Technology R&D PLM, to shape the enterprise PLM foundation across R&D and engineering systems. This role focuses on delivering practical guidance, scalable blueprints, and governance for PLM across multiple country postings, including Raritan NJ and other regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or related tech field; equivalent practical experience may be considered
• 8+ years of relevant experience in solution/enterprise PLM architecture or related roles
• Strong experience architecting enterprise PLM solutions, including Windchill
• Understanding PLM lifecycle processes: data management, document management, change control, BOM/configuration, workflows
• Experience designing or guiding integrations across complex enterprise landscapes
• Ability to create practical architecture guidance for PLM and engineering-system environments
• Experience identifying technical risks, dependencies, scalability needs, debt, and compliance implications
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience in regulated or complex enterprise technology environments

Responsibilities

• Shape the future of R&D PLM architecture across MedTech, defining how PLM capabilities and related processes should evolve
• Create practical blueprints, reference patterns, and design principles to guide teams
• Guide platform evolution by simplifying the landscape and increasing reuse
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, security considerations, debt, and design trade-offs
• Mentor architects, engineers, and contributors and promote reusable practices across teams
