Job summary

Adventist HealthCare is seeking an experienced Medication Reconciliation Pharmacy Tech III to support hospital operations and medication history capture. You will work under pharmacist supervision to oversee sterile compounding, automation, information systems, and controlled substances dispensing, while mentoring Tech I and II staff.

The role requires a Maryland license as a Pharmacy Technician, PTCB/NHA certification, and at least 3 years in a hospital setting with USP standards knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/equivalent is required.
• Maryland Board of Pharmacy licensure is required.
• PTCB or NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is required.
• PTCB Advanced Certification (CPhT-Adv) or focused certification (e.g., Medication History) is required.
• At least 3 years of hospital experience with automated distribution systems, decentralized pharmacy services, and sterile compounding; knowledge of USP 795, 797, 800 is required.
• Experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, and Carousels is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute operations (with pharmacist supervision) such as Sterile Compounding, Automation, Technology and Information Systems, and Controlled Substances Dispensing and Diversion Prevention.
• Complete Medication History capture and documentation; maintain current knowledge of regulatory and practice standards, generate reports, and interact with other professionals; maintain vendor relationships.
• Serve as mentor and trainer to Pharmacy Technician I and II roles.
• Complete Medication History capture for patients admitted to the hospital.
• Obtain complete medication information by interacting with patients and families; ensure medication history is current.
• Maintain knowledge and skills in medication counseling and direct patient interaction.
• Review patient records and discuss current medications with nurses, pharmacists, and providers.
