Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's White Oak Medical Center is hiring a Pharmacy Technician III to support pharmacist-supervised operations, including sterile compounding and automation. The role emphasizes medication history capture, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with nurses, pharmacists, and providers.

The candidate should have Maryland Tech licensure, CPhT credentials, and at least 3 years in a hospital setting with sterile compounding and automated systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.
• Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy required.
• PTCB or NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
• PTCB Advanced Certification (CPhT-Adv) or focused certificate required.
• 3 years hospital experience with automated distribution systems and sterile compounding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute operations such as Sterile Compounding, Automation, and Diversion Prevention under pharmacist supervision.
• Complete Medication History capture and documentation; maintain current knowledge of regulatory standards.
• Mentor and train Pharmacy Tech I and II staff; perform duties of Tech I and II as needed.
• Obtain complete medication information by interacting with patients and families and using available sources.
