White Oak Medical Center seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician III to support pharmacists in sterile compounding, automation, and medication history management. You will role-model professional practice, supervise Tech I/II duties, and engage with nurses, pharmacists, and providers to ensure safe, accurate patient care.

Requirements include Maryland licensure, PTCB/NHA CPhT, advanced certification, and at least 3 years in a hospital setting with automation and sterile compounding;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/equivalent required.
• Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy required.
• PTCB or NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
• PTCB Advanced Certification (CPhT-Adv) or related focus certification required.
• At least 3 years hospital experience with automated distribution, decentralized services and sterile compounding.
• Experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics or Carousels preferred.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and execute specific operations with pharmacist supervision (Sterile Compounding, Automation, Information Systems, Controlled Substances).
• Complete Medication History capture and documentation; maintain regulatory standards and interact with other professionals.
• Mentor and train Pharmacy Technician I/II; perform duties of Tech I/II as needed.
• Obtain complete medication information from patients and sources to ensure current history.
• Maintain knowledge of medication counseling and direct patient interaction.
• Review patient records and discuss medications with nurses, pharmacists, and providers.

Formation

High school diploma or GED/equivalent

Maryland Board of Pharmacy licensure

PTCB or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)

PTCB Advanced Certification (CPhT-Adv) or Certificate in relevant focus

3+ years hospital experience with automated distribution systems, decentralized pharmacy services, and sterile compounding

Experience with Cerner, Pyxis, Pharmogistics, Carousels preferred
