Senior Medical Technologist - Microbiology (Finance)

Work Schedule :

This is a full-time, FTE 0.90, 1st shift position. Monday through Friday, day shift. Rotating weekends and holidays. Hours may vary based on department needs.

Pay :

• External hires may be eligible for up to a $3,600 sign-on bonus.
• Additional components of compensation may include weekend differential.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Medical Technologist (MT) - Microbiology to:

• Provide daily direction to laboratory staff regarding workload, policies, and procedures, and recommend staffing adjustments.
• Perform routine to complex laboratory testing with specialized scientific and technical knowledge.
• Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, independence, and the ability to train and teach as needed.
• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology (required).
• Degree must include at least 60 semester hours or equivalent, with specific coursework in laboratory science (required).
• Preferred: Bachelor's in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) or Master's in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) or related field.

Work Experience

• Minimum 2 years in a clinical laboratory focusing on relevant skills (required).
• Preferred: 3 years of experience.

Licenses & Certifications

• Preferred: Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent in relevant specialties.
