ConnectED is seeking a skilled, thoughtful, and experienced curriculum developer to create an engaging and impactful elective course for high school students on courageous conversations. This is a part-time freelance role beginning in early July and concluding by September 2025.
The Courageous Conversations Certificate Program is a 13-week elective course designed to equip high school sophomores and juniors with the tools and practice to engage in meaningful, respectful, and nuanced dialogue across lines of difference. The course has been conceptually designed and outlined by the ConnectED team in collaboration with Horace Mann, and we are now looking to bring on a curriculum expert to bring this concept to life.
This role is ideal for someone with significant experience designing high school curricula, deep knowledge of frameworks and skills for courageous conversations, and an understanding of how to support student learning and dialogue on complex and polarizing topics. This is a freelance contract position, and preference will be given to those with experience in independent schools.
This is a temporary, remote position from July to September 2025. It reports to the Direcotr of Education for ConnectED.

Our salary range for this position is $500 per lesson for an approximately 13-lesson course, totaling up to $6,500 and including up to two rounds of revisions. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and expertise.
