Job description

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, FTE 0.90, 1st shift position. Monday through Friday, day shift. Rotating weekends and holidays. Hours may vary based on department needs.

Pay:

  • External hires may be eligible for up to a $3,600 sign-on bonus.

We are seeking a Senior Medical Technologist (MT) – Microbiology to:

  • Provide daily direction to other laboratory staff regarding workload, policies, procedures, and recommend adjustments to staffing, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform routine to complex lab testing, bringing specialized scientific and technical knowledge essential for lab testing.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree must include at least 60 semester hours or equivalent, including either: 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR 24 semester hours in chemistry, biology, and related fields (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) (Preferred)
  • Master's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) or related healthcare/science field (Preferred)

Work Experience

  • 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory with emphasis on relevant skills (Required)
  • 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory with emphasis on relevant skills (Preferred)

Licenses & Certifications

  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent (Preferred)
