Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Medical Technologist 2 in the Laboratory Services department to perform technical lab functions and lead lean process improvements. This role emphasizes high-complexity testing, quality control, and collaboration with the leadership team to optimize workflows.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in a high complexity clinical laboratory, a Bachelor’s degree in a lab science, and MLS/CLIA credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, MLS or equivalent.
• CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489 compliant or equivalent MLS training.
• ASCP or equivalent Medical Laboratory Scientist certification

Responsibilities

• Performs technical functions of Medical Technologist 2 as outlined in job description and other duties as required by department.
• Follows departmental and system policies and procedures, including compliance and safety.
• Manages staff workflow and reagent costs to ensure fiscally responsible services.
• Oversees quality control and instrument validations, maintenance review, troubleshooting.
• Participates in leadership-initiated lean culture and process improvement ideas.
• Assists in employee assessments and participates in committees.
