Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Medical Technologist II to perform high‑complexity clinical tests and lead lean process improvements in a busy laboratory. This on-site role in Atlanta requires strong technical expertise, independence, and effective communication to ensure accurate results and patient safety.

Responsibilities include quality control, instrument validation, workflow management, audits, and collaboration with leadership and care teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science (MLS) or equivalent.
• CLIA regulations 42 CFR 493.1489 or US military MLS training.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical functions of Medical Technologist 2 as outlined and other duties as required.
• Follows departmental policies, safety and compliance requirements.
• Manages staff workflow and reagent costs to deliver cost-effective services.
• Oversees quality control, instrument validation, maintenance reviews and troubleshooting.
• Takes corrective actions to maintain accuracy and precision; supports audits and regulatory crosswalks.
• Assists in employee assessments and participates in lab or system committees.
• Attends shift meetings and lab town halls; promotes lean culture and process improvements.
