Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform tests and procedures in a high complexity clinical laboratory. You will report results accurately, follow SOPs, and collaborate with care teams to meet patient and provider needs.

The role requires independence, commitment to lean principles, ongoing professional development, and participation in staff and laboratory town hall meetings. A BS in MLS or equivalent and valid certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical laboratory science or MLS (or equivalent).
• American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent MLS/Medical Laboratory Scientist certification.
• Experience in a high complexity clinical laboratory (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Processes orders and specimens, performs testing and reports results per SOP.
• Follows hospital and departmental policies, safety and compliance.
• Operates instruments with QA checks and performs maintenance.
• Train and educate new personnel; participate in meetings and lean initiatives.
