Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Senior Laboratory Operations Manager to oversee designated areas, promote lean principles, and collaborate with leadership to align with hospital goals.

The role requires 5 years in clinical laboratory settings, 2 years in supervisory roles, and a BS in Medical Technology or Histology/Cytotechnology with appropriate certification; emphasis on staff development, performance management, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5 years of clinical laboratory experience in a high complexity laboratory.
• 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
• Certification as Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Histotechnologist (ASCP) preferred.
• Histotechnologist certification required for Histology/AP Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manages and develops overall operations for designated areas of responsibility.
• Aligns daily work with department goals and organizational objectives.
• Resolves technical and personnel problems collaboratively with staff.
• Investigates incidents and uses root cause analysis for improvements.
• Coordinates interdepartmental services and liaises with leaders.
• Develops and maintains policies meeting regulatory requirements.
• Performs financial planning and budget development for designated departments.
• Participates in hiring, developing, and coaching staff.
