Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical laboratory science, MLS or equivalent.
• ASCP or equivalent Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist certification preferred.
• No minimum experience required.

Responsibilities

• Processes orders and specimens, performs accurate testing procedures and reports results per SOPs.
• Follows hospital and departmental safety and compliance policies.
• Exercises independent judgment in non-routine circumstances to solve problems.
• Operates instruments using established protocols and QA checks; performs maintenance.
• Correlates results with patient age/condition and analyzes deviations.
• Performs quality control data collection, judgments, and corrective actions.
• Maintains current professional skills per laboratory competency policy.
• Conducts education and training for new personnel and students.
• Attends shift meetings, staff meetings and Lab Town Hall meetings.
• Promotes lean culture by applying lean principles in duties.
• Performs other duties as required by the department.
