Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ASCP eligible program or HEW and ongoing education for certification.
• MLS/MT or ASCP certification required within one year of hire.
• 3–5 years of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality clinical information.
• Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity for test methods.
• Operates, calibrates, checks and maintains instrumentation; troubleshoots QC issues.
• Serves as a consultant to laboratory personnel and health care providers; engages in continuing education.
• May collect and process patient specimens per policies and time frames.
• May mentor MT/MLT, phlebotomy staff and lab processors; follows AHN policies.
• Communicates with manager/supervisor regarding supplies and needs for efficient operations.
• Assumes supervisory duties in the absence of the immediate supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
