Boston Medical Center seeks a Medical Technologist II for the Chemistry Laboratory. The candidate will perform moderate and high complexity clinical tests, interpret results, and provide leadership within the specialty.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent and ASCP/NCA certification preferred. The role includes supervision, training, and adherence to regulatory standards in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
• ASCP/NCA certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develops new tests and testing specialties by consulting with physician directors.
• Maintains inventory of supplies for the specialty area.
• Implements best workflow models for the technical specialty.
• Trains staff in the technical specialty and maintains training documentation.
• Assesses competency and communicates corrective actions to supervisors.
• Performs moderate and high complexity tests after training and experience.
• Interprets test results for laboratory users.
• Reviews testing procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prioritizes STAT and routine samples as required.
• Ensures proper specimen identification and labeling.
• Documents testing deviations and approvals in LIS when needed.
• Notifies appropriate personnel of critical results and call-backs in LIS.
• Maintains competency and records for LIS functions.
• Maintains blood inventories (Blood Bank only) if applicable.
• Participates in education and quality improvement activities.
• Plans and prioritizes tasks with variable workloads.
• Maintains open communication with supervisors and medical directors.
• Supports education of students and new staff.
