Job summary

Compass Pathways, Inc. is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison to bridge our TRD/PTSD science with the neuroscience community. The MSL will support medical strategy and engage healthcare professionals in the field across the US.

The role is field-based with Phoenix, AZ or Salt Lake City, UT as primary coverage areas. You will mentor junior MSLs, foster scientific exchange, and collaborate with Clinical Development and Market Access to advance our programs.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific training with associated credentials (e.g., PhD, PharmD, PMHNP, MD)
• Previous MSL experience is strongly preferred
• Preference for neuroscience, psychiatry or psychology background
• Ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight stays and weekends, as needed
• Candidate must reside within the geographic area
• Engaging and expert communicator of scientific information to diverse audiences
• Excellent verbal and written communication, listening skills, and emotional intelligence
• Proven experience of self-motivation, accountability, integrity & teamwork
• Passion for improving and transforming mental health – alignment with Compass' values

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scientifically grounded relationships with healthcare professionals, researchers, and thought leaders across neuroscience and mental healthcare within the assigned territory
• Lead in-depth, compliant scientific conversations focused on disease understanding, research methodology, and emerging evidence in TRD and PTSD
• Address scientific questions from external stakeholders by providing accurate, balanced medical information in response to unsolicited requests
• Collect, analyze, and communicate medical insights from the field to internal stakeholders to inform clinical development and medical strategy
• Maintain a high level of scientific expertise in relevant therapeutic areas, competitive landscape, and emerging research
• Contribute to the planning and execution of medical education activities, advisory boards, and scientific congress engagements
• Uphold all ethical, regulatory, and compliance requirements in field medical activities
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal partners (e.g., Clinical Development, Government Affairs, Market Access)
• Provide training to eventual sales and marketing teams
• For Senior MSLs: mentor and coach junior MSLs, support onboarding and training efforts, and contribute to broader medical affairs initiatives
