Job summary

Compass Pathways plc is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) / Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) to join its Medical Affairs team. The field-based role covers a California territory, engaging clinicians and researchers to advance TRD and PTSD science.

You will develop and manage the geographic territory, lead scientific discussions, and gather insights to inform clinical development and medical strategy. Travel up to 75% is required, with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced scientific training (e.g., PhD/PharmD/MD/PMHNP).
• Previous MSL experience preferred.
• Background in neuroscience, psychiatry or psychology.
• Ability to travel up to 75%.
• Candidate resides in geographic area.
• Engaging and expert communicator of scientific information.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, listening skills.
• Self-motivated with accountability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scientifically grounded relationships with healthcare professionals, researchers, and thought leaders in neuroscience and mental health within the assigned territory.
• Lead in-depth, compliant scientific conversations on disease understanding, research methodology, and emerging evidence in TRD and PTSD.
• Address scientific questions from external stakeholders with accurate, balanced medical information.
• Collect, analyze, and communicate medical insights to inform clinical development and medical strategy.
• Maintain high level of scientific expertise and monitor competitive landscape and emerging research.
• Contribute to medical education activities, advisory boards, and scientific congress engagements.
• Uphold ethical, regulatory, and compliance requirements in field medical activities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Government Affairs, and Market Access.
• Provide training to sales and marketing teams.
• Senior MSLs: mentor junior MSLs and contribute to broader medical affairs initiatives.
