Johnson & Johnson's Robotics and Digital Solutions (RAD) group in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a Senior Robotics and Controls Engineer for the Strategic Robotics R&D Team. You will design and build a sophisticated medical robotic platform, working with clinical, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers.

This role offers a high degree of autonomy, growth opportunities, and involvement in real-time, safety-critical control software, with travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• BS with 6+ years robotics software experience for electro-mechanical systems or MS/PhD as specified.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ in UNIX environments and CS fundamentals.
• Experience with robotic dynamics and kinematics; travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Develop robotic solutions for next-generation medical systems.
• Create human-robot interaction methods with clinicians.
• Collaborate with engineers to test algorithms controlling devices.
• Design software for real-time safety-critical systems.
• Develop test protocols for algorithms and hardware performance.
• Prototype and test on systems.
• Participate in design reviews and code reviews.
