Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a senior Laboratory professional to perform and oversee a full range of tests, ensuring accuracy and timely communication with pathologists and clinicians. You will lead workflow and staff supervision in a dynamic hospital-lab environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Medical Laboratory Science or Biological Science and 3–5 years of supervisory experience, with ASCP certification, strong computer skills, and the ability to mentor residents and fellows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or Biological Science required.
• 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience preferred.
• ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or equivalent accreditation required.
• Demonstrates autonomy and capacity to lead multiple projects under department leadership.
• Experience with computers and MS Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource for assigned areas of expertise and provides technical support to staff.
• Oversees periodic review of quality control and instrumentation logs to ensure accuracy of test results.
• Demonstrates excellent skills at managing and directing workflow and reallocates resources as needed.
• Trains Medical Lab Scientists and Medical Lab Technicians and participates in training development.
• Serves as liaisons between Lab Support Services and technical departments and coordinates with clients.
• Provides leadership in the absence of Clinical Managers and contributes to performance evaluations.
