Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform diverse tests and report results to Pathologists and clinicians. You will prepare specimens, run automated and manual assays, and ensure timely, accurate results while following safety policies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Biological Science, ASCP certification or eligibility, and basic computer/LIS skills. Experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or Biological Science required.
• ASCP certified generalist or cat./eligible; must obtain within 12 months if not certified.
• Experience with computers; familiarity with LIS systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for examination.
• Performs complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and/or bacteriological tests.
• Operates automated equipment and instruments for parallel testing.
• Performs start-up, quality control, calibration and maintenance on instruments.
• Docs inventory to ensure adequate supplies for testing.
• Enter test results into LIS and communicate critical results to providers.
• Adheres to safety and infection control policies.
