Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform and oversee a full range of laboratory tests in accordance with SOPs. You will confirm test result accuracy and report findings to pathologists and clinicians.

The role includes training staff, assisting with staffing and competency procedures, and acting as technical on-call after hours. A Bachelor’s in MLS/Medical Technology or Biological Science and ASCP certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology or Biological Science required.
• ASCP certified generalist or categorical Technologist or equivalent accreditation required.
• 3 years full time experience for internal candidates; 5+ years for external applicants.

Responsibilities

• Performs and oversees a full range of laboratory tests per SOPs.
• Confirms accuracy of test results and reports findings to Pathologists and clinicians.
• Trains staff and supports with staffing needs and competency assessments.
• Leads in absence of Clinical Managers and participates in training and development of residents and fellows.
